1.1 Curriculum
UST-JHS applies Brain-Based Teaching & Learning in the school. Brain-Based Learning Theory is based on the structure and function of the human brain. As long as the brain is not prohibited from fulfilling its normal processes, learning will occur.

SAFE QUESTIONS:

1.      What is an adjective?
2.      What effect do adjectives have on writing?
3.      What are the types of adjective?

LESSON PROPER:

1.      Introduce them the adjectives.
2.      Give some examples, present adjectives in sentences.
3.      Ask students to give words to describe shown pictures to them then write the words on the board.
4.      Ask each student to give 1 meaningful sentence each using one of the adjectives written on the board.
5.      Give evaluation activity.

Direction; Underline the adjective words in the following sentences.
          1. The movie was not too terribly long.
          2. A person smarter than me needs to figure this out.
          3. The final exams were unbelievably difficult.
          4. This pie is very delicious and extremely expensive.
          5. Everyone was extremely delighted when the winner was announced.
          6. The new outfit was very pricey but really beautiful.
          7. Mom said the cost of a car is way too high.
          8. Faster than a speeding bullet, Superman was finished in no time.
          9. Students upset about the rising cost of tuition staged a rally.
         10. That complex has quite small but cheap apartments.

Synthesis

          1. Review the purpose of adjectives.
          2. Mention the types of adjective.

          1. Make sentences using adjectives to describe a real or fictional person,
              place, or thing.
          2. Describe their day or morning so far and the other students will guess
              what adjectives he/she used to describe his/her day or morning.
