Pedagogical Contents

1.1 Teaching Methods

These are the teaching methods of the teacher that I observed. When teacher came to classroom, students gave greeting for the teacher. Then, the teacher or one of the student led all of the students in the classroom to pray before start the class. After that, the teacher gave motivation to the students related to the lesson they were going to learn on that day. After giving the motivation, the teacher started the lesson. Before teaching the lesson, the teacher showed or gave some words about the lesson to students and asked them what they know about that. One by one of the students gave their opinion or shared what they know about the lesson and the teacher gave some compliment to the students. Then, the teacher started the class. The teacher explained the lesson with good explanation and examples so the students could understand it easily.

The teacher asked some questions to students about the lesson and some students were so active and willing to answer the questions.

There are 2 types of class in USTJHS, first type of class is LAA Class (Learning Anytime and Anywhere Class) and second class is Non - LAA Class. For students in LAA Class, they have tablets to learn the lesson. In the end of the class, the teacher usually asks the students in LAA Class take their tablets out and asks them to open Kahoot! or Quizzez (applications or games about quizzes of lessons). The teacher uses Kahoot! or Quizzez to give them questions about the lesson they have studied and to see how deep the students know or understand about the lesson. Sometimes, the teacher gave point for the students who got 1 first places of the games.

1.2 Learning Materials and Innovation

Their learning materials and innovation  are video, power point, projector, whiteboard and board marker, and applications or games. The teacher make short power point with many examples, use video for the motivation or more explanation also applications or games which is related to the lesson for students to make the lesson becomes more interesting,

1.3 Sources of Learning and Technology

Sources of learning and technology used by the teachers are internet and books from libraries. They add some examples in a lesson they will teach in a classroom from their daily life so it will be easier for the students to understand it.

There is a library in USTJHS. The library is quite big and there are many books. Sometimes the teacher uses the books in the library as their sources fro teaching in the classroom.

1.4 Authentic Assessment

For the assessment, one of the teachers asked the students to make a concept map about the lesson they have learned. Example, the teacher had taught Poetry to the students, so the teacher asked the students to make a concept map to see if they understood the lesson or not. They need to make a concept map creatively.

This is one of the students' concept maps. The students are creative.

Other teachers will give the students a test or a written/online quiz about the lesson the students had learned.
